Anyone else have a constant engine tap below around 1500rpm? I can't nail down what its coming from and started probably around 10,000 miles back. It's not a clunk of anysort just a tap every revolution of something.

Lifter or fuel injector is the most likely source of a tick.

Since you probably have an overhead cam removing the valve cover and checking for play might be a good idea.
Check oil pressure as well.
Running a high detergent oil additive prior to the next oil change won't hurt anything and might clear up some lower pressure oil outlets.

There are fuel additives for injector cleaning.

While the additive might quiet the injector tick, if it comes back I would plan on swapping out the injectors with rebuilt ones, i.e. you pay a core charge for rebuilt injectors you send back your old injectors and get the core charge back, less downtime than having your injectors rebuilt.

Ah alright some other people have suggested injector noise too. I've been running high life oil and before going 10k miles on Mobil 1 EP I treated the engine with seafoam which took the tap away but only for about 1k miles

old thread but from what i've learned searching through some threads on here is that its normal; these 2.3's are notoriously noisy engines, don't worry about it. mine with 70k on it did it
