Would it technically be possible to 2JZ swap a Ranger? Probably a stupid question as you can drop a JZ in almost anything, but I was considering that an idea for the future lol. I want to tune my 2011

Isn't that an inline 6 cylinder engine? It would be pretty long to fit in the Ranger engine bay.

Its a bit long and tall

2JZ
31" from front of pulley to rear of block
27" from top of valve cover to bottom of pan
Also showing 30" wide but not sure on that, seems too wide for a straight 6 even with turbo

302/5.0l V8
27.5" long
21" tall
19" wide

And length and width of 302 barely fits, and height as well

You can raise body and drop engine/trans a bit lower, but need 6"

The length will be the bigger obstacle, only 4" but it is 4"

Unsure on the 30" thing but that WAY TO WIDE for Ranger engine bay

302 has to be wider than 19"

Arbitrary measuents are kind of fickle to go by for engine swaps. It isn't a 2x2x2 cube going into a perfect 3x3x3 cavity.

Straight 6(I6, inline 6) engines are known for reliability and torque, from any car maker
Only issue is length, need a long engine bay

Top outside edge of valve cover to top outside edge of valve cover on other side, assuming stock valve covers, lol

If you have a 2jz, you need something with a long nose. If you have a Ranger and want to do a JDM "type" swap, Honda K is your answer. You will need an adapter plaet for the transmission unless you have a S2000 donor, OR go with some type of AWD setup.

Thank you all for your thoughts on this. I’m guessing it would be easier to tune the engine I have and maybe beef up the trans
