engine swap

I have a 1996 ranger 3.0, my engine is shut, will a 1999 3.0 will be a fit or at least the short block or until what year I will be able to use?

I believe the engine was redesigned in 1998. I'm sure it would still fit, but you may need to take a few other things rather than just the engine. I'm sure someone else who has more experience will post with more info.

The 99 MAY be a flex fuel, not that that should stop you, but there are differences you'll need to be aware of. Read the entire article.
