good day i think! got a 96 short bed 2.3 auto with 89k on it at auction. been sitting a while but in excellent shape. only bad is the short bed. it is replacing the 96 long bed, which has about 350k on it. i'll sort out any issues before i decide whether to run it as is or to swap eng/trans and keep the long bed and sell the newest (now known as number 8. ranger 1 is the long bed, no 3 was sold, no 5 is the convertible. 2, 4 and 6 were junked. no 7 is sitting in the weeds, shedding parts slowly to keep no 5 going) the long bed is accumulating dings and dents slowly- put another dent in it friday. got too close with the payloader
then drove 225 mile round trip to get no 9 but it was even rustier than last weeks attempted purchase.
this being florida, there are lots of snowbirds who keep a vehicle at their winter home. it only gets used a few months each year, then sits in the carport 'til next winter. when gramps gets too old or dies, the kids don't want that old thing so it goes on c l or is auctioned. some real bargains sometimes. checking them all out is a bit of a bother though
