Engine noise


you know, an easy way to determine if this is spark knock or not (without one of us physically being there) would be to just retard your timing and drive the truck as per normal. if you dont have a timing light, a shop could probably do it for you for cheap (its an easy process). bump the timing back to 0 degrees...if it still makes the noise with the timing set here we KNOW it isnt spark knock.

(note that your truck will be gutless with the timing set this far back...and also make sure the shop you take it to pulls the SPOUT connector before setting the timing).
 
good advice, I'll look into that. I'll also update this post with any info as i try all of these things.
