I seem to be confused. I have 2 brackets mounted to the crossmember, and the motor mount on my 2.3 bolts to them. Do I need to leave the brackets off and bolt the 4.0 engine mounts directly to the crossmember? The 4.0 mounts are bigger than the 2.3 and the pin does not fit in the brackets on either side. I was thinking the mount unbolts from the bracket and then the 4.0 bolts right up. I didnt try to bolt them to the crossmember but it almost seems like the brackets are to small. Anyone got an idea what Im missing? some pictures would be nice.

is this correct? don't want it setting to low.

I would get rid of the 2.3 brackets and use the 4.0 brackets. But I haven’t done that swap.

hopefully photo will load this time... These is photo of mounts on the crossmember without the bracket

I was on the ortolan sister ship to the pigeon

No offense. But I'm glad we never needed the Ortolan's services.

Are you trying to replace your 2.3 with a 4.0? Or something else? You posted this thread in the V8 engine swaps forum. If you're doing a 4.0 V6 swap, I could move the thread for you and it might get more responses.

If it was before about 85 or so you were right. I heard after that they were kicking some ass.
When I was on in the early 80's 50% of the crew was using drugs and 40% of the others were drunks.

That is where they should be for a 5.0 with 4.0 rubber mounts if you got the ricks rangers plates you need to remove the alignment dowels.

I got them in today. Thanks
