engine help/ fuel leak

I have a 1996 2.3 4 banger...It has 191,000 miles and the engine has a tick at idle. When I first start the truck, I hear no noise.. but after running for a min or so this tap or tick starts. Sometimes its louder then others. I need some help...Also, i have a fuel leak at the filter.. it's leaking at the top connection.. just changed the filter a month ago...
