So, we're all familar with that shit that builds up on the outside of our engines.

now, my question is, will that buildup be less if i use a synthetic oil?

i'm assuming most of that is engine oil vapor from a leaky pcv, or whatever, and synth isn't supposed to sludge up, so would my engine stay clean?

i've spent the last 2 days going over my intake and valve covers to get rid of this crap, and i don't want it coming back.

Synthetic may help, but the root cause isn't oil sludge, it's oil leak. Resealing the top end will help, but you will need to keep an eye on it for leaks. Eventually it will start leaking again, oil will get out there, and then you get oil crap out there.

If you have oil leaks synthetic oil will leak more you need to find the leaks and fix them then change over to synthetic if you want.

i'm having a new engine put in, i just want to avoid buildup on the parts that are being kept, valve covers, manifolds, stuff like that.
