engine computer learn mode?

Is there any way to put the engine computer into learn mode?
Its a 95 2.3l obd-ll

Why? usually disconnecting the battery for a short time will cause the computer to go back to it's primary settings and "relearn" things. I usually just drive around and let the computer adjust on its own anytime I have done something.
