hi everyone,

i found a s-10 an craigslist. the thing is, it needs all 6 emissions parts. what are they?

thanks

Umm it could be several different things. Why don't you ask the seller exactly what parts are missing? It would be a lot easier than us trying to guess what parts he's talking about.

i asked him what emmisions parts it needed and he just said all 6. i don't know anything about emissions. i always thought it was exhaust and sensors

It could include 1 or more catalytic converters (I don't know if he's counting each cat individually or not), egr valve, smog pump, pcv valve, o2 sensors, as well as some other parts I may be forgetting. There just really isn't enough information. What year and engine does this have?

its an 86 5 speed 4x4 with a newer engine. i think i might go take a look tomorrow. how expensive and hard are those parts to fix?

Looking at Napa's website, they're listing a universal cat for $88, and a direct fit for $134. An o2 sensor is only $20, which is unusually cheap. Smog pump is $86, EGR valve is $43 or $70 or $85, depending on quality. PCV valve is only about $3. Oh and that's assuming you have a 2.8 V6.
