I've got everything done except for electrical things on my '90 A4LD to '86 FM145. There are two plugs hanging down approximately under the driver seat. One is a circular plug with 5 slots. The other is fairly flat 3 slot plug. There are two, I believe, on the FM145 that I brought with it.

I tried to fire it up tonight, but got nothing. I assume that the computer is looking to see if the transmission is in park, not allowing it to turn over. I can't figure out what to do beyond that. Should I just short across one of the plugs to allow it to start? Which plug does what? thanks..

The round plug with the 5 pins is the neutral safety switch and backup lights from a4ld which it needs to be by passed (2 wires hooked together) to make it start or turnover. The other plug was for the 4th gear and lockup solenoid off the a4ld.

anyone know what wire colors needed to put together? I am getting ready to do this swap myself....

So I just leave the 3-slot plug, and on the 5-slot round one I need to connect two wires so that it will start. Do I need to connect two of the other 5 so that the reverse lights work? Which wire is which?
