elec. fuel pump problems!!???

i am running the stock carter 1bbl, i don't recall which one it is,but let me ask this..the whole story is in my other thred about switching to efi but the high point is i took out a 2.0 used a 2.3 out of a 93 used a 2.3 head off a 86 or 87 ran my 2.o carb and intake...now is there enough differeance there from 2.0 to 2.3 that i shoud be using the webber carb that came whith my 2.3 head i bought?

I used a similar setup and although there was slight port mismatch the vehicle ran pretty good and did not diesel...I don't think it's the carb but it could be fuel/air mixture if you try to lean it out too much...could be plugs, could be a number of things...mine did it for a while but I fixed it as mentioned above...try adjusting whatever you can on the air/fuel if that is an option (nice to know what carb you have in case there are no adjustments)...

Unfortunately, there are too many variables and even though it's usually an easy fix in most cases it can be frustrating and get expensive with trial and error...

"...spraying a slow stream of deep-creep or WD40 down the carb to see if it will level out on its own will tell you for sure that its fuel related just don't get crazy with it because it can rev up on you or backfire/sneaze and ignite what you've sprayed..."

I've seen this first-hand...have to be quick to break that fireball connection to the can before it blows up in your hand...:icon_surprised:

Haha, yes, it does require a bit of... shall we say, finnesse?

Still a sure fire way to get answers (pun not intended :icon_twisted:)
