Recently cruising the surplus section at Princess Auto. Princess auto has a Ford (84 to 98) fuel tank EFI pump retainer ring tool for cheap in Surplus. Sorry didn't take pic of packaging.

Never thought to look for one, but there is a factory version that connects to a breaker bar.

The Canadian version looks like you would get better leverage as long as you have the clearance.

Both of those tools look better than what I’ve done before, lol.

Of course the aftermarket plastic tanks in my F-150 and Choptop use tabs that screw down to retain the pump assembly. Not sure offhand what trucks I have that would use that kind of tool but I wouldn’t mind having one in my box for as needed…
