Did you try and bypass it to make sure that is the problem, before ordering the new switch?
Not yet, Im driving the Audi right now...but I'll be driving the truck tomorrow to pick up a dryer. Ill shove a paper clip in the harness before I leave![]()
It would be a good idea to put dielectric grease on all your electrical connections as you put them back together to protect them from future corrosion and take a small screwdriver and make sure all the individual connectors are pushed all the way in also.
You said that your FP relay wasn't getting ground.
Where is the FP relay ground at?
Do the fuel injectors use the same ground as the FP relay?
I have a similar problem. My in-tank pump is not running when I turn the key on. I changed the ig switch, relay, jumped the inertia switch, Checked every fuse, and link. There is no pwer at the blk/pnk wire. I can put a jumper wire on the green relay and make the pump run. The truck will run and drive. I do have a code 87 , primary pump failure code. I ordered a relay base. Any ideas what I should do next?
It should run for two seconds everytime you turn the key off and back on (as you mentioned)....otherwise I'd say you have an intermittent problem. As it was posted a few threads back, check all the wiring and connectors associated with the FP. I had similar issue....No priming at all to be exact. Found out the FP relay wasn't getting ground and also had a frayed wire down on the Hi-press. fuel pump. Its been covered alot about the importance of the grounds doing their job. Check all the grounds that you can find and clean/repair them. Good luck and keep digging.
This thread is 7 years old. It's possible that the OP may not even own that vehicle or visit these forums anymore. Also curious to know if this was solved
