Educate me on transmissions...

This picture showes a divorce mounted NP205 Tcase. In the middle you see 2 rods that go into the case. Those are the shift rails. It is possible to connect them to 2 individual shifters or "twinsticks" and independently control lowrange, and output selection. It is possible to put it in 2H, 4H 4L and front wheel drive Low I believe.

i vote for an AOD /dana 20 combo. very happy with mine. transfer is very stout for its size and cast iron case and gear drive

Now I'm with ya on the twinsticks, thanks for the picture also...i think i'm just gonna go with the c-6 that i've found and find a 205 for it and get to work...your idea makes good sense to me now about having individual control over your 4 wheel drive, I like that alot...thanks again man...

Well, picked up the C6 and 208 transfer case today...I never realized that the transfer case is about 3/4 as large as the transmission...Anyways, everything clean and in real good shape, still had very red fluid dripping out of the tranny when i was loading it and tipped it a little, $150 for the pair so no complaints there...Now just gotta pull the 302 out of the pickup it's sitting in and then it's time to get busy with this deal...Thanks again for the input guys and I'll post pictures of the process as it moves along...Wish me luck :icon_welder:
