Ecosport/Fusion questions...

She actually wanted a new bronco sport, but because she has to have all the doo dads it put her at a payment she wasnt really comfy with.

I do think shes leaning more toward a fusion, but i dont know. She was looking at those little tiny buick SUV's. Shes also mentioned tauruses. I personally vouched for a mustang or challenger but she wasnt having it lol.

My buddies wife has had 2 fusions and theyve been good cars, was mostly concerned with the CVT's in some of them.

Her 2010 is a dog. In my opinion. My 2.9/5sp will hand it its ass untill you get up to the point where torque and gearing make the handoff to HP and aero. My F250 stomps it everywhere but the gas pump lol.
My wife has a Bronco Sport Badlands with the 2.0 Ecoboost... surprisingly, it’s a quick little bastard. It’s a decent little SUV but, IMO, pricey for what you get.
I’ll be honest with you and not make jokes this time... The Maverick is the same chassis/drivetrain, cab size is the same, the only difference is the back half. I think you get a better bang for your buck with the price of the Maverick.

Ill mention it to her. But i doubt she'll bite on it.

Can you get a cap for them yet?

There’s one that out there, I’ve seen a few pics... I don’t know if available yet.

$3500 smackers

Looks like they have a "contractor cap" version that is only $3K

Did they run the 2.5 N/A up till the end of the fusion? Id like to sway her toward that because the one in her escape has been solid. Gutless...but solid.
I don't remember for sure about the 2.5, the EcoBoost 2.0 has more power, gets better mileage, and it's the same Duratech family as the 2.5. And we had no trouble with the 2.0 so we basically stopped selling 2.5's and completely stopped ordering 2.5 cars for stock.

Eco sports don't have a great reputation. Fusions do.
My 2016 Fusion Energi has been flawless for me. It had 23k on it when I bought it and I've added another 37k. The lifetime fuel economy hovers around 90mpg in the summer (I charge on a regular 120v outlet nightly and do a bit over half of my miles on electricity) and mid 80s by the end of the winter. The only maintenance it's needed has been 2 oil changes. The CVTs are pretty much just 2 electric motors and a planetary gear set. They're nearly idenit all to Toyotas hybrid transmission, and they both have strong reputations for reliability. If memory serves, all of the hybrid components have a 10 yr/ 100k mile warranty.

I thought CVTs were basically belt driven? Or was that just the chrysler ones? I know very little about them.

Ecoaport is about like a golf cart, my wife wanted one for awhile because they are cute.

Pretty sure in the event of a wreck I could reach out the sunroof and rip off the doors like hulk did his shirts. Freaking tiny things.

Many CVTs use bands or cones that tend to wear quickly. The hybrid ones are completely different. They're the component that enables switching between the ICE and electric drive. There's really nothing that can wear out in the hybrid CVTs that Ford and Toyota use. Ford and Toyota hybrids are often used as taxis because they're super efficient and last hundreds of thousands of miles with very little maintenance.
This channel has lots of good videos:

They really are golf cart size... I need to pick up one of these and use the body panels on my SxS to make it street legal.

you cant just add lights/turn signals in your state?

👍 yeah .....

EcoSport....fun.

I would have to say the edge is my favorite ford car by a long ways ....Ecoboost 2015 or newer.

Cost... power... drivability...ingress/egress...and comfort for myself is awesome.

The Maverick. ... Definitely a winner to me as well.

My kids And mother have had all of the iterations of fusions and escapes between them since 2007 or so.

I liked them all ... The 1.5 ....meh ....the shutter critter was a pia after a raccoon collision....

But all solid

No. We can’t legally drive them on or off road in NJ... for some stupid reason I own 2 of them!?!?

Move to the desert. They have terrain for those things. And beer at the store ...lots of places to shoot guns too ...
