I got a traditional folding shade and it really helps keep the truck from baking. It's a bit of a pain to put up tho. Not much of a pain... it's 20 seconds... but it seems like a hassle in the moment. Anyone have one that you like? The umbrella ones look like they could be quick and easy.

I use a beach towel and hold it on with my wipers and 2 magnets

The silver fold up bubble ones have the best insulation value for keeping out the heat.

The fabric ones with the silver/gray coating are the next best and are a quick flip/fold once you have practice at it. Installation and removal is about the same as the above.

I’ve seen the accordion window shade type that get mounted on the passenger side A pillar but I don’t know how good they really are. Deployment seems like it might be easier. No idea on the folding up.

The towel idea seems to have some merit. I use something similar for the winter time to keep the snow off and minimize the ice but it’s a dark fabric and the benefit on heat reduction probably wouldn’t be as good.

Garages work well if you can keep
Enough space clear to get the vehicle inside.

Wife has one of the umbrella units in her minivan. It’s pretty easy to use.

I got an umbrella type shade, but my wife stole it. It's takes some practice, but it's easier to use and definitely easier to store. It works plenty good enough too. It doesn't cover the whole windshield in my big truck, but it's worth it for the ease of use. I got one witha flexible handle or it wouldn't fit the big truck.
