I bought a 1975 early bronco Dana 44 to do a sas swap on my ranger. The guy I bought it from had started the disc swap, he had the backing plates and spindles already installed.
Now here's my question is the Chevy spindle longer or shorter then the stock drum brake spindal?

He gave me all the stock parts and I'm confused cause I thought the Chevy one was suppose to be a little longer and it's not.

i believe there the same size. did he swap to chevy knuckles? or use 76 eb knuckles?

exterior same, seat is thicker on spindle so you want the chevy studs as well.. you need the longer outers to keep the c clip

Thanks, yeah I think I have it figured out the Chevy spindals are barely longer.
I'll have to take pictures. The Chevy spindal bolts up to the stock EB knuckle, I also just picked up 79 F150 hubs and rotor from the junkyard.

do you have the right chevy spindle? there are two styles and the bearing size and seal is what fawks it up. you want the small bearing, which is said to be pre 77. not sure about that because i have run across them on 10 bolts.

I hope its the right one the guy i bought it off said it was but i guess thats why i'm here asking questions. The one on the right is the chevy small bearing I believe and the one on the left is the stock EB.?
