e-brake dash light intermittent

Issue:

Light sometimes comes on when I apply the e-brake, sometimes it won't.

I've done some searching here and have come to the conclusion my switch is bad or is misaligned. Could it be anything else? This is a 5 speed manual truck.

That's usually the switch. Check the plug too but it's normally the switch.

Plan on checking it out this weekend. I need to get this squared away before my friend installs a remote starter.
