Rules:
1. Err on the side of stalling the engine.
2. Don't rest your foot on the clutch pedal or your hand on the knob.
3. If you have to smash the skinny pedal to the floor to maintain your speed, you need to downshift. If you have the engine wound up and you're barely pushing the skinny pedal, you need to upshift.
4. Do not coast with the clutch pedal held down. Shift to neutral and get your foot off the pedal. Even on a driveway.
5. Do not coast to a stop. Climb down through the gears; only coast the last few feet. That way, if traffic starts moving again, you don't have to hunt around for the gear you need and accidentally grab the wrong one.
6. Reverse is way too fast. Be ready.
