Dually Ranger


now that is a true dually rear end and would be worthy of being used as a dually. i thought about a dual kit a few weeks back when i had my ranger loaded with wood. top to bottom front to rear. suspention was bottomed out and tires looked half-flat. 0-45 in ten minutes. dont know how much weight i had, but id guess at least 1,000 pounds.

are you kidding me? the dually 'yota axle isnt worth a soggy sack of dog crap. the early semi-floaters liked to melt and send a set of dually rear tires cruising down the highway by their lonesome. the full floaters did alright, but good luck finding parts for one. im not even sure its possible to change out of the low 3.xx:1 gear ratio that they came with. and since a single rear wheel 8.8 has a similer weight rating and parts can be had for it...

must be p-rated tires. ive hauled close to 1-ton in the bed of my ranger without hitting the bump stops, and the 6-ply coopers could care less (the axle would snap well before they maxed out).
 
yaeh, my winter tires are the "p" rating. normally i wouldnt use the ranger for such a hefty load. where i was getting wood was better suited for a compact truck. (and the 3/4 ton was 20 miles away anyhow)
