Ive heard they were made from the factory.
I seen a beat to hell one with a service box...highly doubt it was a conversion.
....and if you cant spin stock tires with a 2.9 and a 5sp on wet pavement youve got a problem. My guess is a slipping clutch. I can get rubber on dry pavement in 1st, second, and 3rd if im really mashing it.
