Hi, I don't want to start a war being the New Guy but I've had a lot of experience making "Custom" exhausts since I learned to weld. I was ten at the time I think. My first stack was on my friends 1955 IH one ton. (220 Silver Diamond Straight Six). I used a Ford Driveshaft tube for the stack. It was really Tuff sounding! I have searched a lot on the web for dual stainless stacks that others have made and all I find is the soot Blowers with Mongo Pipes. They think it's wussy to put them on a gas Job. They never ran a good setup is all I can say. Here's my 94 Ranger with the pipes I used to run on my 74 Chevy stepside PU that had a 250 straight six banger. It had close to 300K when the body finally gave up the ghost. They aren't hooked up on the Ranger yet as I was gathering Stainless elbows and such on Ebay for it.

They are rather small in size "Comparatively" but really sound awesome with no muffler. 1 3/4" OD Stainless Pipe. They are fairly tame noise wise unless you want them to talk! The sound goes up! I get lots of compliments on them. I know I just have a beater and I'm a redneck, but Hey, I'm havin' Fun! Paul :icon_welder:

I would have done something a little different but .......... if thats what your into then again welcome to TRS.

it looks alright, but from the title i was expecting 6" Chrome stacks...........

Hi, I guess that's why I would like to share my experiences as I was brought up old school and most of the old timers I learned from have passed on. I don't have anything against Soot Blowers either (I got one myself, an '85 F-350 w/ the old 6.9 Diesel), but those way too big pipes sound shitty compared to the smaller pipes. They echo the valves slapping shut too much for me. Seems like just one more reason to get stopped by the cops. There were a lot of stacks in use before diesels were made for pickups. I never saw a set over say 2 1/2" for a v-8. There was a reason for that.

oh I got a plan to run stock sized tubes inside the the 6" chrome stacks. the oil burner will be my tow rig and prolly will not get stacks.

the smaller stacks look a little better...but still not my taste (i dont like stacks on pickups).

but whatever floats your boat. welcome to trs!

There---now the neighborhood has really gone to the dogs----horizontal stacks---

Nice! I think I would lose that spare though! Unless that's your bottom out bumper. Not real handy to get at when you have a flat! Hey after looking at your pic it looks like I put my spring hangers on upside down! I already know I have Brian damage!

The only time stacks look cool is.....

Stacks on a Pete are the Balls! I built a couple Pete Glider kits in my time. They are the best! I worked on them not driving them so I put stacks on my grocery getter. I guess that still makes me a wannabe. I also had a CB like everyone else back in the day. You know, Dukes of Hazzard and Smokey and the Bandit Era. Like they say, "Long hair don't cover a Red Neck!" I'd rather be a used to be than a shouldabeen.

I think his is a shackle flip to lower it, he is building a really cool lowrider with harley pipes and a '36 cab ...........

Jason, where you find images of a 389? been trying to find images of just the headlights (wanted for the cruiser)

#1---I'ma gonna put a "lift kit" :icon_rofl:on the spare tire so you can't see it when the '36 bed & fenders are bolted on.
#2---That Peter B. would look good even if it had two dead possums hangin from clothes-line poles behind the cab.

#3---Any of your Grandpas' remember the Dodge Little Red Wagon with the factory stacks back in the uh--1970's?

#4---Stack'em if you got'em.....:icon_hornsup:
#5---Ain't these little cartoon critters great:headbang:
