dual in dual out

ill simplify:

true dual exhaust with no EQ pipe (X-pipe, H-pipe) = bad

dual in/dual out muffler = good

EQ pipe with 2 single in/single out mufflers = better

Thats better thanks so that i bought the flowmaster dual in dual out i will try that. Whats the diffrence in EQ pipe with 2 single in/single out mufflers than the dual in/dual out muffler.

youll loose slightly more exhaust velocity with the dual in/dual out muffler. if this was a race car id worry about it...but its not a race car.

the speed i drive daily delivering pizza and i top every day around 110 at least. i would like better sound out of this truck would like to put 5.0 in it but no money so i go with other.

a v-6 will never sound like a v-8...so you can stop hoping for that. the new muffler will lower the pitch of and even out the sound of the exhuast, but it will still sound like a v-6. if you dont like the way it sounds, then just put a quiet stock muffler on it and leave it be.

trying to get it close to a v8 but i know it will not sound anything like it. once i run this engine transmission in to the ground i have a 5.0 that i will be putting in after rebuild.

Ranger SVT 4.0 sounds just like a v-8.

He runs 3in exhaust to a 6in diesel tip, exiting out the side.

Cherrybomb has a DI-DO muffler that has a perferated X-pipe inside of it. I almost got it for my F-150 but went with glasspacks instead.

It isn't hard to get a V-6 to sound like a V-8 at idle, but as they start to wind up their true colors come out. Never heard a V-6 very far above idle that didn't sound like a V-6.

thanks for all you replies. if i had a welder and all i would test everything out my self. when i come by the money i will be doing this resenator then dual in dual out flowmaster super 40 the turn down or may go out with tips dont know what ever going to be better.i have all parts but need money for someone to put it on.

which would be better / louder tips or turn down

An exhaust out from under the truck will sound better. Tips vs no tips is a personal thing, the exit point can make or break it IMO.

I have mine out the back on my F-150 at a slight downward angle so all you can see is the stainless tips, my brother has shorter SS tips out at a 45 degree angle tipped down so all you can see is the pipe... I think that is how I am going to do it on my Ranger, it looks really sharp.

Personally I absolutly hate it when people that put tips on an exhaust where you can still see the pipe, expecially several feet of it.
