Ive got an 04 ranger and im about done with the grill guard so now its time for the exhaust. I was going to lift it but there are no lifts for that new of truck except superlift and i dont want to lose gas milage or street performance. anyway i was looking around and the gas tank is right in the way for the second pipe going out the back. I know they make dual exhaust for rangers so where are they putting the pipes. Outside of the frame? Cant go under everything for risk of starting a fire (one reason for a lift). Thanks for any info

Most Rangers that I've seen have had single in- dual out mufflers, so the just had the piping ran round the tank. My 84 v8 ranger is true dual, and the exhaust is ran around the gas tank, but has different length mufflers to equalize the pressure

I had a true dual setup on my 93 and he just ran both pipes down the passenger side into a dual in/dual out flowmaster. Then from there back was just like a regular dual exhaust setup.

That is what I did too. My brother took it a step farther and had them cross the pipes, so his are pretty close to equal length. The right pipe is for the left bank and the left pipe is for the right bank.

sounds pretty complicated to make it true dual

Wasn't complicated at all for me. He just cut above the y pipe and welded new pipe all way back.

What motor was in your truck and how did that sound, i was thinking of doin the same thing on my 4.0 but im not sure if i should do true duals or a DI/DO muffler
