pic #1 is stock, pic #2 is what it looks like in the summer time/non-snow seasons; i wanna know you guys' opinion on dropping it 2 inches?? what you guys think?

and, how do i go about sucha thing??? i am also swappin in a 9 inch 3.73 rear end soon ( when my $ can allow it )

Yes, I agree at least a 2" drop is in order. I would think about getting the 3" beams though. The rear is easy enough, flip the shackles for 2" or flip the axle for 4-5". Do some measuring and see how much drop you will need to get the look you are after. Once you start lowering the truck, you'll just want to go lower LOL

He's right--if you're thinking about two", you wish you'd have gone 3". But, you can go 2" for the cost of a pair of new coil springs & an alignment. 3" will mean a drop kit. And don't worry bout not knowing how to do things--as long as you give the guys enough info, they're glad to help or refer you to the right forum/tech library

haha i know i will eventually wanna lower it quite considerably, but for now, 2" would be ideal since i live in a snowy climate lol..and how would i level out the rear end with a newer 9" rear end? what am i looking at for materials?

Anywho, for the 2" your after in the rear you just flip your shackle hangers like illegalconcepts suggested, that works no matter what rearend you have. For that you just need 8 bolts to replace the rivets you have to grind out.

I think your truck would look great lowered 2 inches but, as everyone here has said, you'll get that "urge" to lower it even more...which costs money but it well-worth it

i think that the drop will have to commence this spring. i just ordered a new shift knob today (from a 2007 FX4 level II), i'm throwin in some buckets and gonna make a FG console for my lil' beast..should be fun!

Any issues you guys ran into, any pointers to make it go as smooth as possible?? thanks for the help!

snowy climates are not good man. my old 92 I ended up lowering so much I couldnt drive it in 5 cm of snow!!! ITS SO ADDICTIVE!!!

by the time i have the moola to drop anything i will probably have a secondary vehicle to use, so thats not a huge issue. how would i go about dropping it though? i just want to know whats out there; what i can do economically to get me started. i don't wanna do ANY hacking yet, nor bagging. i just want a small drop to bring it closer to the ground..thanks for the suggestions
