Drawtite front hitch...

will the Drawtite 65017 front hitch fit on a 1st gen ranger (1983)? seen where it is supposed to fit on the 1997 and older, but not sure how much older really.

As far as i can see, it only works on models as old as 89.

have a look at my install in http://www.therangerstation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70180....it has pictures of the frame and holes where it mounts too...if its the same i dont see why it wouldnt work. It mounts via the sway bar holes and a hole further forward in the frame. I mean you could always just drill holes...as long as the dimensions where ~ the same.

i drive a 1983 1st gen ranger. i think the front is considerably different due to the different front suspension. i do have an option i'm considering. i have a very heavy duty front push bar on it and i might try to do something with adding a receiver to that. it has 1/4" side plates and 2" x 0.25" tubes. and it's mounted to the frame.
