Can I use dot 4 for clutch fluid?
And can it be synthetic?....or is straight dot3 the only to be used with no advantages going with a 'better' fluid:dunno:

Have some issues with shifting and starting easy n cheap:D

dot 3 and dot 4 are basically interchangeable.

dont bother with synthetic. if your having shifting problems, something needs replaced...playing around with the fluid will only hide the problem temporarily at best.

the only advantages are heat brakedown, the higher dot rating, the higher temps it can handle. but yes you can go up in number, but never go down.

The slave isn't going to be exposed to the same type of heat that brakes are regularly exposed to, unless you have a really big problem. On these trucks you are ok as long as you keep the fluids full and clean. Dot 3 will be fine.
