I have a 1996 Ford Ranger (No powerlocks). My ignition works with my key but it won't lock my doors anymore. What do I need to do to get it to work?

I can order new lock for the door, but which models are interchangable.

Try some graphite spray in the locks first, if that doesn't help, go get a new key cut. If both doors are doing it I'd guess the key is probably worn out.

The ignition lock isn't quite as picky.

I don't know how late the door cylinders will fit, but I know that door cylinders for a 1993-94 won't work in a 1995 up.

Frankly I'd go looking at "new arrivals" in your local u-pull-it and try to get a complete lockset.

they are all relatively easy to get out...

If you have the key and a Craftsman T-20 torx driver (NOT the magnetic bit kind)
you can get the ignition cylinder out of a 1995 up in about 5seconds.

the door cylinders require a big screwdriver (to use as a prybar) and or a pair of channel locks to get the sheet metal clip that retains them in the door...

x3 on the graphite lube, just used it on mine and its only 3.50 at parts store, so its so cheap you can not just not try it
