Door closer and fit

On my 89 Stx when I close the doors they close but there not Snug. they move a little if I push in on them. I think the hinges are fine and they probably just need adjusting. I played around adjusting the Stud in the door piller and got it to where it would close Snug but you damm near had to slam the door to close it. Anybody elase have this issue and / or know what I'm talking about and how to fix it. Thank...

Before you adjusted the striker, was the rear door edge flush with the cabcorner? The rattle you are feeling could be worn weatherstripping. You should adjust the striker to where the door is latched and flush with the cabcorner, then go from there. If you get it flush, and it's still hard to close, then check to see if the door drops when you open it. If it does, and your bodylines match up when it's closed, then it could be the hinges. If it doesn't drop, latches flush, and still rattles, you probably need new weatherstripping.
