Wire stuff wrong?
Last time I went to tow my ATV I noticed the right turnsignal and running light was not working. I forgot about it after I got on the road. The other night I was undercoating and noticed the green (right turn/tail) wire running down from the rear light to the hitch was melted. The coating was GONE and the wire was nasty.
I looked up a T-Connector for it today at work. Come to find out they don't make a direct plugin model. Seems I had to install a "Heavy duty circuit protector" Whoever wired it just spliced the wires into the running, and turn wires at the light.
The connector it needed to be proper had a converter which I had to run a hotline up to the battery, so when the signal and brake lights come on back on the trailer, it actually pulls the power from the battery and not the lighting circuit on the truck.
My trailer lights are so much brighter now.
