ive been looking into buying a newer full size truck, and doing some comparing on online forums EX: tundra vs ram vs f150 vs silverado type searches

has anyone else noticed if you do the same type of things sometimes that,

dodge owner are convinced they are faster than everyone else

ford owners are convinced that they have the best truck built to work

chevy owners are just okay with anything as long as they are better than ford

but has anyone noticed that tundra owners just seem to be straight out prudes,
now im a die hard ford guy and i give every vehicle respect in its own category but i think they are all so close now that it come down to personal preference.

personally i believe the chevy 5.3 needed to be retired a long time ago... but im not a chevy guy :thefinger:

just wanted to see what you guys thought

I don't care so long as it's American lmao. But if you gave me a tundra I'd drive it :)

Everybody is going to have a preference to which is best. Each has advantages, and disadvantages. In the end see where you can get the best deal on a truck that comes closest to meeting your needs.

i mean few of my friends have tundras and they are powerful, dependable trucks, with everything you want out of a v8 even that throaty roar, but even they are convinced that they have the fastest, most powerful, most capable, longest lasting thing and they take it to death.

its just irritating to me when someone can be so naive as to think that there japanese 5.7 can out tow a 6.0 or even a 7.3, while still being faster, and while still getting the best mpg

i just think they need to be humbled a little bit

I say we get a 6.0 and a 7.3, tie them to either end of the Tundra and pull just to see if the frame will straighten like a string. :thefinger:

I support American made trucks too, but isn't the Tundra more American than any of the big three...meaning it is actually built in America. I know that some Fords aren't even built in the country, but I could be wrong.

Mine was built in Kansas City Missouri.

They have actual plants out of the country but I think they are mostly for markets out of this country. (refering to trucks, I don't care enough about cars to pay much attention to them)

I never liked the Tundra's, they look too much like a potato.

This sounds just like the Taco/Ranger discussions, except there is one major difference. Yes, the F150's cost less, yes their parts are way less blah, blah, blah. The big difference is - Ford actually put some effort into the F150's over the last few years - not in the case of the Ranger. The F-150's are much, much closer, if not better than the Tundras.

If you can pay for new ones, get what you want. Look at prices of ones a few years old and tell me what you think.

I would drive them all, price them all, work them all for a good deal.Loyalty is good blind loyalty can bring regret. Make Ford prove they still make the truck you want.

Toyota, Nissan and GM are out if I were to buy late model, I ain't draggin 'em an hour away for warrenty work or some freaky dealer only part... keep the dealer support in your area in mind.

Pretty much leaves me with Dodge and Ford for options...

I ain't buyin' a Dodge. :icon_thumby:

what i like about ford and toyota is that they usually go the extra mile for quality, like they try to foresee every vibration that could cause a failure somewhere and they take care of it.

i personally think the toyotas look girly, they are very powerful though.

if i were to need a truck for day in day out relentless work i'd go with ford.

there is a reason there are so many ford fleet trucks

I have a few friends who drive a Tundra and they love the trucks. They use the trucks to haul their horses and their huge 25 ft boats and travel trailers. 2 of them had Ford F250s and they loved the F250s. They got tired of not being able to find diesel when they were out in the nowhere country they told me. They never had any issues with the F250s but they just switched over to the Toyota brand. They have been happy with them and they still have a Ford Mustang or a Sport Trac. All of them have been Ford owners for years loved the Tundra but still have a Ford or 2 in the garage or driveway. One of them has over 170,000 miles on his 3 year old Tundra and he has never had an issue with it. Not all people are hung up on one manufacturer. We have Suzuki, Nissan, Ford and Jeep and Toyota vehicals. I really like them all. We never have had any issues with them as well. Very reliable and great to drive.
