Do auto-darkening lenses wear out?

ive been using a hobart hood for the last 6 years and so far ive only gone through 1 battery to 2 40lb. spools of wire. i bought it from tsc in the middle of an exhaust job cause i couldnt get the weld on top up the pipe, under the floor board, with out being able to see it when i started. so i took all the money i made on that job and bought this helmet. i covered it in stickers so it doesnt look so plain, but it does the same thing as the painted ones they sell for $30-40 more.

its pretty big, atleast double the size of the cheepy's...also pretty light the speedglass's are a little lighter but not by much

with the 4 sensors ive never been flashed by it even when tig welding
