I have a 85 Bronco II that had a bad 2.8 engine that I pulled out and replaced with a 85 ford ranger 2.8. In this process I'm doing the duraspark conversion and bought the distributor from Autozone per the duraspark conversion part # in the technical library.

I'm having a hell of a time getting the new distributor in. The old one went in with out many troubles. I have also replaced the oil pump and shaft with the melling one. The teeth one the old distributor match the new one if i mesh them together. Maybe I just got lucky putting in the old one?

Has any else had a similar problems? Any thoughts :icon_confused:

I had to sand the base of mine to get it to go in, just a tad too big.

Base of the shaft that goes into the cam/oil pump or the base of the distributor

Thanks

Where the Dizzy goes in the block,I had to do it too.

I have done 4 durasparks with cardone dizzys, and i have had trouble with all of them. I have had to sand the end of the shaft that runs the oil pump and on others the aluminum casting that sits inside the block.
