Ok need a little advice. My brother has a 97 Ex with the 5.0 and AWD. He needs a TC and it looks to me that he needs a BW4404.

Sound right? He said he has called a few places and they said it has to be from a 96-97. Whats the differences in the later years?

I would guess because there are no controls on the bw4404, where all the others have a way to shift, he doesn't have the wires or items to control a transfer case that can shift, and the bw4404 was only made for two years.

this is of course a guess. best it to crawl under it and see if there is a way to change over to one of the other type, from the pictures on that page, they all look as if they could bolt up.

Dustin, I have a spare 4404 (btw, the front flange is different), and I'm sure I have the front shaft to go with it...Whats wrong with his tc??

Not sure. My dad called me about it, but I done know anything about the AWD cases. So is the flange the only thing different? Can he use a newer one if we swap flanges?

And a little more progress. Probably going to leave this side until I get the winch on the front and can see my clearances for everything.

the only downfall in my eyes is the fact that the inner structure is not smooth.

but it looks awesome and is another plan for my b2 dedicated trail rig (when ever that happens)

the differences in the 95-97 and 98 and up cases are the hole for the speedo. newer ones have no hole.

i need a case also for my wifes expo. glissons has already pulled cases for $200 and might have a few in the yard for $40
