disciplerocks's B2 build thread

Yeah I got a list of stuff to work on/finish this weekend to get ready for the Turkey Bay trip in 2 weeks and the fenders are on there. I just got sidetracked working on the trailer.

Got the B2 cleaned out finally from the last trip, fixed my toe issue (had to mod the adjustment sleeve), installed a new cb cable (hope it fixes my problem), fixed my spare driveshaft, and finally got my on board air finished. Started to make my sway bar easily removable, but didn't get far on it.

Also took the trailer for it first spin with a couple hundred pounds of scrap metal in it. At 60 on the highway, I could tell it was back there, but it wasn't too bad. Gotta do something about the tongue weight cause its kinda rear heavy.

This is with it filled up.

Mount a spare tire and tool box up front of the bed, that should help some, the only other way is to move the axle back, and that won't look good.

maybe lower the rear spring hanger or make the shackle longer so the ass of her would raise up more

The ass is only low because of the weight (see the pic on the last page). And I am hoping the 32s I am gonna put on her will help too.

And yes the spare will be going on the tongue along with a spare battery somehow.

Add one of the tool boxes from a truck that has the one piece lid, and mount the battery in it, plus you can load that down with the stuff you need and don't want to get wet, that should help with the tongue weight.

As high as the trailer sits, I would mount the box on top about 6 inches away from the front of the bed, and then get one of the little cable winches out from under a Ranger, or Explorer, and then mount that under the box, and have the tire sit under the box and frame.

While this is a good idea, this is also taking away from the tongue weight that he needs...If he added the spare tire carrier in the factory spot, he would have to add almost double that weight (about 100 lbs) to the tongue to counter act the weight added behind the axle...

I could add that to the front or under the tongue. Good idea I'll look into that. As far as the tool box though, I don't want anything taking up a lot of bed space.

Since you don't have a driveshaft, you could locate the spare in factory form but in front if the axle, giving you both a spare and tongue weight...
SVT

That what I meant. There or under the tongue.

I was typing about under a tool box mounted on the tongue, that would add to the tongue weight and solve his problem with the back being too heavy.
