I strapped my buddy's motorcycle in the bed of my Ranger before... stuck the front tire in the one corner an shoved the back to the opposite corner. Shut the tailgate an piled a $h!tload of other gear in the back (we were headed up to college). Came really close to hooking a jetski trailer on the back too... lol. (Theres a pic of it on my cardomain, page three about halfway down or so)
Dunno about your Ranger, but mine came factory with some cargo cleats in each corner of the bed. I just ran a couple straps to those an a couple points on the bike. I tend to get a bit carried away with tying things down though when left to my own devices... I lost a 4x8 sheet of 1" blue foam out of the back of my Ranger when I had a cap on it... never thought it woulda come out with the cap door resting against the foam, but it did... after that I tie things down REAL good. I'll load the heck out of my truck but it'll take a case of dynamite to get it out of the bed without unstrapping it.
