Difference between Shortbox & Extended cab box.

They quit making them sometime in the mid to late 90's. I watch for them, and don't see that many.

Although I think I heard they recently brought the longbed back, still haven't seen one though.

I've seen the new longbed Ranger. Its alright, hard to spot if you don't exactly know how to look for one. Mostly utility companys are the ones that buy them. Firestone across my place wish they had one, but their company wanted them to get the 4-door Colorado. 4-doors are nice, but not when they have to deliver 20+ tires in that small bed.

I seen an '02 or '03 the other day that was a longbed. It took me a second to realize it too.

Too bad it was a GOV and couldn't be customized.

wasn't there and option a couple years ago for a long bed super cab ranger i recall hearing something along those lines but i cant quite remember

So, what makes the Supercab so super? At least the regular cab is regular. I mean, there's nothing special about it and Ford makes no pretense about calling it anything else than what it is. Supercab, though? C'mon.

:)

what the hell are you talking about? They NEVER got rid of the longbed, EVER. Theres just not as many people who order it anymore.

I can't believe the amount of misinformation going on here, no wonder this kid is confused.

no

The long box (7 ft) was an available option on the 2008. Back in 1988 when I bought my first Ranger most were 7 ft boxes, the 6 ft was the rare one.

Uh....no they didn't. The Long Box has been an option ever since the arrival of the Ranger. You can still order a long box!

And there is no such thing as a Super Cab long box! Unless you count this custom one:

holy cow, thats a big truck. i wish i had pics of a truck this one guy owns... its a 4 door long bed ranger (but the 2 back doors dont open)

FYI, Ford DID make an ext cab, long bed Ranger in the mid 90's. I'm looking for one right now. So if anyone come across one, Please Contact Me?

So then acording to the info here I could take a Splash bed(short) and put on my Gen 1(short) correct? I only ask this cause it would be different than all the other Gen 1's.....
