Difference between 87 to 89 front suspension prerunner

Hi new to the site and rangers Im buying a 87 ranger 2wd from my uncle and I'm gonna build it to a prerunner camburg makes a nice kit from 89 to 97 coil over I'm wondering if the 89 kit will fit on a 87 and what the difference is between the two trucks is thanx

The beams and knuckles.

88 and earlier the ball joints were in the beams.
89+ the ball joints were moved to the knuckles.

You can swap beams between years, if you also swap all the other related parts. I dont know exactly what else wound need to be swapped. Someone else should chime in and fill in the details.

Hmmm I wonder if the kit will work because the kit replaces the I beams and the spindle and the hub assembly I'll give camburg a call and see what they say but thanks for the info

yes you can put it on a 87. you will just have to get the 89-97 sterring knuckles/brakes,ball joints and camber bushings

95-97 are the best as they are dual piston bolt on brakes.

Awesome awesome thanks for the info it really helps cuz I didn't wanna do another motor swap it has a 351w in it running nos it's for drag race ill upload pics ones I start the build

with a 351's power youre going to have, your going to over run the front end. I'd suggest running beams that can accept the the f150 4x4 -d44 knuckles/spindals and such..

Oh ya for sure 4 link kit rear fully decked out front with the camburg racing rear end haha I've done rock crawling and from that I learned got heavy duty on everything

The only thing I've been trying to decide is to 4link the rear or deaver leaf spring the rear cuz its a daily driver but I wanna take it to glamis and such to
