DeLorme SA 2009, SA 2009 PLUS

Does anybody use the DeLorme maps/gps software? If so, they just started shipping the new edition....SA 2009, and SA 2009 PLUS.

I have SA2004 in my laptop. I love it for trips. Great for finding food and hotels when your on a road trip. The wife and I pull in to an area, use it to get the numbers to hotels and call to check rates.

I'd actually like to a get a GPS for the F-150 though. The laptop takes up to much room.

You can use a bluetooth gps receiver with a PDA, and the DeLorme software will work.
I have a USGlobalsat BT-359 GPS receiver that works well with my laptop.

These days, most bluetooth GPS recievers are actually GPS navigators and have POI databases of their own. It's kinda nice; you can tell the GPS to find a specific POI (fuel and lodging are particularly easy to find, though my son's preschool is in there as well), and tell the GPS to call it on your cell phone with one button-press.

The one drawback is that they do get a bit out of date sometimes. I've gone looking for interesting-sounding restaurants to find out they are long gone.

In my case, the BT-359 is ONLY a GPS receiver, all of the POI information is in the DeLorme software/maps on my laptop.....This isn't like the Garmin, Magellan, or Tomtom hand held GPS units......
