Delayed "Lockup" on Torque Converter

a mess and the need for a new transmission...
I would think running through the radiator would warm the trans up more quickly in colder weather.

I would think it would help anyway.

Both my '85 and my '86 parts truck had it routed thru the radiator and thru a pathetic excuse for a tranny cooler.

13.9 mpg really sucks... I've found that I can drive it and if I don't use cruise, I can keep the converter locked and just go easy. Nothing changes how much gas it sucks down though.

I'm reviving a thread that I haven't posted to in just under a year... any ideas on leaving the torque converter unlocked. Like the torque converter mod that leaves it locked, but also have it so you can leave it unlocked. Nothing permanent, but to be able to temporarily leave the tc unlocked while driving in hilly areas where the thing unlocks and relocks constantly... I usually turn the OD off, but I'd rather bypass the computer's control in some occasions.

I thought I read somewhere where someone had done it successfully without pissing the computer off, can't find that thread, I'll keep looking. I don't know, just a thought.
