Deer Hoof Fitment

I may be wrong, but these 2wd 93 wheels did not fit this 2wd 98...

Maybe just the 1993-1994 14 inchers had a smaller hub bore. The 15" inch 1993 deer hooves I have have been on every Ranger (2wd and 4x4) ive had at some point and so have the 1997 14" deer hooves.

Next time I hit the junk yard ill compare the years just for reference. Im curious now:icon_confused:

I don't suppose its possible to get hubs/rotors for an older 2wd truck and put them on my truck without incident, is it? I know the center bore for Rangers is 70.3 but as the picture shows, the hubs don't poke trough as much on the 15" deer hooves.

...maybe I could run extended thread lug nuts. Apparently the reach a little farther into the hole of the wheel to get you a couple more thread to bite onto.

Sigh. Wrong again. Is this not enough thread through the lugs? They're finger tight.

Stock spare for comparison.

I guess there is a bit of a beveled edge to the mounting pad on the Hooves that the stock rims and my steel rims don't have. Is there too much thread showing on the lug nuts? Are extended studs an option? I banged one out of an old rotor and that was easy enough. Thing is, the new rotors have some finned part on the back that would stop the studs from coming out and I'm not sure how to remove it. What are my options? Get different wheels?!

The steel wheels always sit like that. The mounting plate is thicker on the aluminum wheels so you have a little less stud pokeing through.

The aluminum in your picture is how every one of my aluminum wheels sit on all my trucks so dont worry about it.

Really? That's a freaking relief. I think I'll still order some extended thread lugs if I can find them. My only concern is whether or not the extended part will fit through the holes in the wheels, the shank or whatever.

I mean, do trucks that come with aluminum rims have longer studs? This is just weird to me.

Yeah if you zoom in on this pic you'll see the same shortness of the lugs, when I test fitted w/ my broken Alcoa.

Personally, I hate those nuts. The tips break off.

Only time I ever needed a set, was putting Rockstars on a Tacoma.

If the stud reaches all the thread it'll be ok.

If it really bugs you, pop one out and take it to the parts store. They have a book, and can find you longer ones with all the same other dimensions.

If you do get the extended lug nuts just make sure they are solid one piece. The ones that come with the polished plate over the actual steel nut strip real easy and end up pulling off over time if you use an impact tool or just remove the wheels a lot.

I can only say ive never had an issue and all my trucks with the aluminums sit just like your picture. I wheel hard and haul heavy loads 2-3 times a week. The nuts dont move.

Hell yeah bigmark, that's what I like to hear. All I do is cruise on the highway and city, so I might just rock them like that and check the torque every couple of days. I took my lugs and a stud to an Autozone and and Advanced and they didn't have any deeper or longer lugs. The stud doesn't go through all the threads but which does concern me. I'll probably try the Gorilla nuts (lol) and see how they hold up.

Thanks for everybody's help!
