Dead mans guns...

There is definitely a "they" and "we" become "they" after elections. I will give you an example - our county commission implemented a tax which I feel is blatantly unconstitutional, maybe illegal. I talked to several of the commissioners about it and two of them gave me the same response - "We are going to do what we want to do, regardless of what the voters want, and we don't care if it costs us a re-election."

"They" are sleazeballs. The long version of this story for context is that the state concocted a scheme where they put a portion of gas taxes (which are used to build roads) into a grant fund for fixing bridges which can only be used by counties and only if the county implements a wheel tax on vehicle registrations. So basically we have to pay a tax in order to access tax dollars we've already paid. My county voted against it by a pretty sizable majority but the commissioners found out that they could ram it through in an emergency session without worrying that it would get shot down by the voters again...so when an old bridge fell apart, that's exactly what they did.

"They" are dangerous and cannot be held accountable. If you want proof you need look no further than Ruby Ridge or Waco.

This is how it's done gentlemen...

I inherited quite a few handguns and rifles from a close relative. They were all from the era when you could just walk in and buy any gun and walk out. Due to their age I've never worried about if they were registered or not and still don't and I live in the gun hatred state of California. No registration, no crime IMO. If anything were to ever come up I would have to invoke that tragic boating accident where they all fell overboard.

Is there abuse of power in Government, yes, same as at corporations, and Mom and Pop grocery stores, that's a human thing
"Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely"

But its one of those things you can't prevent just fix it after it happens, so there will always be bad people and some will get elected

When we finally have the Computer Overlords, things will be different, no greed or avarice, or other human failings when it comes down to having "power" over others
"Here's the right answer, deal with it" :)
No need for Lawyers

Out of everything that happens in Trenton... that’s illegal?!?!
I once watched a group of people flip over a car and set it on fire in Trenton.
