The more threads I read the more confused I get. Project truck 1984 BII, I am adding 3 inch body lift and then will work on suspension lift, but right now I need an answer. I got a sweet deal on a set of 33-12.50-15s, so I am looking at rims, what rim size needed for 33-12.50? I have a nice set of stock rims that are 15 X 7, any chance they could be used, or do I need to buy a set of 15 X 8? Also any information on the dreaded (OFFSET) of rims would also help! Thanks to site and all its members.

I think 8" is what you'll need to get. The standard size for a 33x12.5 tires is 15x8 with 3.75" of backspacing. :icon_thumby:

but idk if just a 3" body lift is gonna make you fit 33's.. i don't wanna bust your bubble, i'm just being realistic. my RC 4" suspension lift won't fit 33's. you might get by w/ the body lift and budget boost tho(coil spacers or washers or ex's coils and block in rear or shackles or ex's leafs) and a fender trim. and the front sway bar is probably gonna rub. could just ditch it tho! :D

Thanks

:icon_pepsi:This info is helpful. I do plan on doing fender trim and add a leaf and coil spacers. Also pulling front sway bar. Thanks to all; special thanks to creaters of this site, so much information, and answers to problems.:yahoo:

I would leave the sway bar unless it is a dedicated offroad truck. Could be in for a wild ride if you take it off.

I dont have one on mine, and i dd the beast

Yeah but the difference is that the OP is running a BII, and without a sway bar it can be a wild ride due to the short ass wheelbase. I too also run no sway bar, but a super-cab short bed is a entirely different story from a BII.

OP, I'd leave it on and get some removable pins so you can disconnect it quickly for trips.

I have no swaybars on my BII, and it's not scary by any means (and that's with soft flexy Jeep coils too), though it does lean a lot more than it would with them.

Certainly easy enough to put 'em back on if you don't like it though (then maybe get disconnects for it).

I have 33x12.50s on my 89 BII with just 3" body lift. mine only rubs the fenders a small bit at full stuff and sometimes turning if one tire is articulated some.
but since my truck sees a whole lot of offroad, i have a set of 3" jeep coils ordered and im going to run 2" rear blocks at the same time. then all rubbing should be gone.
im also running 1.5" wheel spacers so my tires dont rub the sway bar or any susp components
