Every time I pay a visit to the local junkyard I see Rangers in my generation with the newer dash. How hard is it to swap dashes? I'm sure at least one of you has done it. I also need to know what (besides the dash, cluster, and radio/heater stuff will need to be switched out. I'm still not sure if I want to do it prior to painting my interior. Knowing this will help greatly. I have to safe the dash to paint until spring anyway, it's too big for inside.

Thanks,

-Koda.

The dash and engine wiring is completely different since the '95+ Rangers have the OBDII PCM. Not to mention that your complete heater/AC system would also have to be changed from the cable setup now to an all electric setup.

Hmm.. thought that would be an issue.

I think I'll stay away from this swap, too much work and not enough knowledge from me.

Ah Koda - just photoshop a new dash in there and hang it on the wall to drool over - LOL.

Keep your old dash. It takes 10 minutes to change the heater core in your truck. It takes 6+ hours on a 1995+ truck.
