dash speaker grills on a 1st gen

a 4'' speaker is, well, a 4'' speaker.

they will never reproduce lows like a 6 1/2. there meant to fill in the sound, or fit in tight spaces.

the thing i liked about those blaupunkts i linked is on a good pioneer headunit, i had the bass on max and they didnt distort untill the volume was pretty high.

they have a nice crisp thump to them.

i was impressed with them in my ranger.

i know, that's why i have a sub install under way right now.

and i want to either do kickpanels or cut through my door panels to put a set of components or even just some 6x9's or something in them eventually.

polk components in the doors with a small amp will rock that thing like nobodys business.

thats what im going to do in mine.

polk db651 front

polk db691 rear

the amp is a secret, lets just says it is 1000 watts rms.

good luck with that, i'll probably just try and live with my dash speakers the way they are right now i suppose, and maybe just upgrade to a model that is less deep once i get some more money built up and my sub install finally finished.

I cut a hole in my grille's and drilled some mounting holes and just mounted the speakers to the grille. They are Polk speakers, I don't the model, and I don't have an amp but I love the setup.
