dash lights???????????

bought a wrecked 1984 ranger with front end smashed. my son and i cut the front end off and put a different dog house on it. i replaced all front lights and everything outside works, even the doe light and cargo light works but i have no dash lights and all fuses are good what do i look at next? this is a big project for my son to drive and this is a big learning experience for him as wellas me so were trying to do everything ourselves on a tight budget any help is apreciated

Welcome. If it were me, I'd take good look at the light switch. There's a large rheostat on it to check for burnt spots visually, and then you can also test running light power going into it, and dash light voltage coming out. Starting there should reveal a problem, or at least point you in the right direction. Good luck.

I had a problem with no parking lights and no dash lights....it was a bad headlight switch.

sorry to highjack ur post but i have a similar prob. i have no dashlights and no headlights/or high lights, i replaced the light switch( the one that pulls out to turn lights/and dash lights on) but still nothing, im fixxin to get a dimmer switch and see if thats the cause, because some times when i turned my lights on my head lights wouldent turn on, and id play with my blinkers and they would come on, so maybe thats it.

get a volt meter and see if theres power, i probly should have dont that before ordering my dimmer switch.

thanks for all the help i had a bad light switch as well as 2 bad lights got it all fixed up
