rear:
73-80 3/4 ton chevy full float 14 bolt. 10.5" ring gear.

ive been doing my research. sound good?

Unless you want the dually hubs, make sure the axle is from an F350 SRW or a 250 w/ snowfighter option.

Why the bias against the 2nd generation of 14FF?

Basically, every GM Heavy Duty 3/4T and 1T truck came with a 14FF in it since 1973. In 1988 the 2nd Generation came out. It's basically casting changes, but there are some other changes with the brakes, etc.

Chevy fullsize trucks are refered to as C10, C20 or C30 if 2wd and K10, K20 K30 if 4x4.

The 10 20 and 30 refer to the size like F150, F250 and F350.

I dont know what a G30 or G35 is unless some rare Infinity sport sedans happened to come with FF14B in them.........

hey thanks. soo.... ff14b are a dime a dozen. i didnt know if there were different modifications that made one more preferable than the next.

so are we looking at any rear from a GM Heavy Duty 3/T or 1T truck at or a little after 1988?

oh by the way thanks for your help, i really appreciate it
