Dana gears??

Absolutely 7.5s had 2.73s, but as I said, its not the 7.5 that I am having a problem . . . Read my first post :

Whats the tallest gear set you have seen for our small stock Dana front rears?? I'm doing the V8 swap now and would like to lower the gear ratio numerically. I have plenty of 7.5 gears for the rear, but what can I get for the front??

I could find nothing for the small Dana when I searched, hense why I asked here. I agree I should have posted in axles and gears.

Well, like I said. If you have any interest in putting a D-35 in the front, I have a 3.27 ring and pinion that you can have.

Broncograveyard.com has 3.08 STANDARD rotation gears for 98+ rangers but thats all I could find for that ratio

Are you still gonna use the 4x4?

Sure, not changing anything about the 4X4, but only for street use. Therefore, I can't see myself changing the housing if I don't have to . . however, if I have to do it, maybe something from a Jeep?? But seriously, I might go AOD before I change the front housing. The truck only has 58K on it.

Here's the engine just sitting in there: Also, here they say a 3.08 was available; cool!

so I wonder what the drivetrain combo/year used the 3.08s??

But if it's for street use why would you need 4x4? Just asking...

Nope. Don't snow here. Sorry I don't get snow like other places and don't think about it. Ya know-- you don't think about things that you don't deal with a lot.

Most snow I've got was like 3 inches and it shuts down everything. Sure I drive in it. But people here don't do well with snow

And even If I thought about looking where you're from-- it's not listed like mine is lol

First, about other gears, changing from a 3.45 to a 3.27 would be a waste of time, not enough of a difference. The 3.08s wouldn't be my first choice, but if its the best i can do, I'll do it. However, I've been looking and can't find anywhere 3.08s listed for sale. Wish I could figure out what combo they were used in stock.

as for snow . . well last years we had 80 inches here, not canada, but enough :) 4WD is just nice to not have to worry about the snow. Thats why I bought abd built the Bronco. If I wasn't wanting a $WD, i see no reason to even consider a Bronco.

Wish I could figure out what combo they were used in stock.

I already told you that.

Select and rare 4.0 2wd Rangers with the 8.8 rear end. Mostly (if not all, not sure of the year range) 3rd gen trucks. Far as I know, they weren't available for the Danas.

i like the old school grille

FYI- My '90 4.0l Supercab 2WD came with 3.08s. Not that it matters but its got a Detroit and 3:73s now. :icon_thumby:

You guys amaze me . . no . really you don't. I have taught too long to not expect similar. What does the rear diff of a 2wd vehicle have to do with me wanting info on the front diff in a Dana 28 in a 4wd vehicle????????????????????????????????:icon_confused::icon_confused::icon_confused:

It simple, he said that the gears you are looking for never came in a 4x4 RBV.
3:08s were only available in 2wd RBVs. (adsm08 said mainly 3rd gens, I informed him that 2nd gens were also available w/ 4.0l and 3:08s)
