Dana 44 and 9"

no way...you get 410 and maybe better gears and a locker....good shafts....1500 bux. brand fawkin new.

the unit bearings are an issue with heavy 35's....but an all terrain 35 on the street they will soak up just peachy...much better then a ttb d35.

brakes on these trucks in this tire size is also a non issue.

if you have a boner for the big stuff go cut up a dodge or chevy 44 and put the flat top stuff on your tubes. then you can really make the high pinion work for ya.

by the time you find, gear, lock and refresh a low pinion eb d44 your kicking over a grand at least and 1800 average.....your still stuck with a low pinion shaft problem.

but for older trucks its not much either way, if a guy had a late model sla then these are the shit....i can buy this axle and swap it in for less then a reg sla lift kit.

and still have abs.

Where do you get them new for $1500? I wouldn't run 4.10's anyways. I have $500 into my HP 44, 5.13's, ARB, alloy shafts and crossover steering. The only thing that was bought used is the ARB.

Mopar performance (aka, your local dodge dealer) now sells them. I've got a few hi pinion axles kicking around that I could narrow, but I was already balls deep in the ebd44 so I decided to stick with it. If I was gonna do 35's on new truck, those rubi axles would kick ass. But for anything older, the ebd44 is damn near a bolt in and it'll take the abuse 99% of us can throw at it.
